On-Air Talent Profile

Harper Lane

Harper Lane believes weekends are entirely too short to waste. Originally from Oregon, Harper grew up in the Pacific Northwest surrounded by a mix of music, outdoor adventures, and a family that was always finding somewhere new to go. Country music wasn’t actually the soundtrack of her childhood. That came later. Harper really discovered country during her college years when friends started dragging her along to concerts. The combination of great songwriting, huge live shows, and artists who could make thousands of people feel like they were singing the same story hooked her. Before long, the friend who once needed convincing to attend a country show became the person telling everybody else which artist they needed to hear next. Her outgoing personality eventually led her toward radio. Harper loved the idea that a microphone could turn something funny that happened yesterday into a conversation with people she’d never met. Once she got behind one, she found exactly where she belonged. Away from the station, Harper likes exploring new places, hiking when the weather cooperates, traveling whenever she gets the chance, checking out live music, and finding the places locals recommend instead of whatever happens to be at the top of a search result. She’s also competitive enough that a supposedly friendly game can become considerably less friendly once somebody starts keeping score. Harper has an adventurous streak, but she isn’t someone who needs every weekend planned down to the minute. She’s equally happy heading somewhere new or spending an afternoon with friends when nobody can quite decide what they’re doing next. That combination of energy and spontaneity is a big part of The Weekend Heat. Harper brings listeners along for today’s hottest country, talks about what’s happening in music and everyday life, and shares the stories that inevitably follow when her plans don’t work out quite the way she expected. She’s energetic without being over the top, confident enough to have an opinion, and always willing to laugh when she’s the reason something went sideways. For Harper, a great weekend doesn’t have to be complicated. Give her good people, something worth doing, and a great country soundtrack, and she’s probably in.
